Most Common AC Problems in Oakville

What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Abbey Air Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning is here with some of the most usual A/C problems in Oakville.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your air conditioning system working but there isn’t cool air being produced, you might need to have your refrigerant levels analyzed. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air blowing from your air conditioning system is actually cool. Call Abbey Air Service Experts and we’ll come out and check your refrigerant levels and look into why your air conditioner is not giving off cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

A reason your condenser fan may not be rotating could be that it just burned out and you need to replace the fan. Humidity tends to cause more condensation so another problem to watch for is that the water is not draining properly or that the drain is blocked. If you can verify these things, you may be able to find the issue; if not, give Abbey Air Service Experts a call and we can investigate what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and go over your options to get your system up and running again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try lowering the temperature on your thermostat. It sounds silly but sometimes we overlook the obvious. If that doesn’t get your system cooling, inspect the air filter. If the air filter is obstructed, it could cause major cooling issues. Another issue that could cause your ineffective cooling is that your air conditioner is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a typical issue when homes are constructed. Abbey Air Service Experts will come out and conduct an analysis to determine if the size of your equipment is causing your problems.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your system is short cycling, or turning on or off continuously, it could mean one of several things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and in need of cleaning. Once the unit is cleaned and all blockages removed, you may be all set. Keep in mind that humidity also plays a role so if your home cools to the right temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to warm back up, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because it’s having to work harder to keep your home at a lower temperature.

No matter your problem, whatever air conditioning trouble you run into, Abbey Air Service Experts is here for you all day, every day so we can get your family comfortable quickly.
