We are making our way through the last few weeks of winter but we still need our furnaces, especially during cold nights. There’s not a lot that is worse than turning in at night just to realize your furnace won’t start up. If your furnace won’t turn on, here are a few things you can check yourself prior to calling Abbey Air Service Experts.
Check Air Filters
You should change standard air filters each month. If you fail to do so, they can end up clogged, blocking air flow and causing your furnace to malfunction.
Check Your Thermostat
Try turning the temperature up a few degrees to get the furnace to kick on. If the actual room temperature is higher than the thermostat, the furnace won’t run. Also, make sure the system switch is on “heat” or “auto.”
Check the Power
It may seem obvious, but make sure the power switch next to the furnace is “On.” Even gas furnaces use electricity so make sure the breaker has not tripped and that the power switch wasn’t accidently switched to the “Off” position.
If you review all these things and your heating equipment will still not turn on, give Abbey Air Service Experts a call at 289-813-5566 and we’ll come out and get you heating again as soon as possible.
